Work through them and keep going

To quote an old Elvis Presley song “Didja’ ever get one of those days, boy, didja’ ever get one of those days, when nothing is right from morning to-night, didja’ ever get one of those days”. I will be singing and channeling Elvis all day now, haha! I just love Elvis, don’t you? Elvis’s album (where you can find this song) GI Blues, was the first album I started running to. It had just the right mix of slow and fast songs to work with my intervals. Now I try to plan my playlist so that “My Way” is playing right about the time I cross the finish line, LOL.

Ah, but back to the subject.

Do you ever have days that nothing seems to go right? Where everything you touch seems to fall apart? I’ve had almost an entire week like that! Apparently it’s in the air because my friend, Tania, posted the other day that she was having one of those days and my yoga instructor, Kim, was having issues with everything she touched electronic last week! It makes you wonder if you should even get out of bed some days.

I noticed it starting last Friday with that Facebook incident I posted about (that still makes me crazy) and it just seemed to continue through the weekend and into Tuesday night. I was trying to close out a customers party for my Plunder business when I somehow lost her hostess rewards after redeeming just one. Of course, it was after hours and, I had to wait until yesterday morning to call and try to have it fixed. I was soooo worried they were gone for good! This lady had worked so hard to have a successful event and had earned a lot of free jewelry! Since I’m brand new with Plunder I had no idea what to expect. I posted my dilemma on Facebook and several of my plunder sisters came to my rescue and talked me off the ledge.

After making myself crazy all weekend trying to work on the Facebook problem, I have decided that trying to fix that is futile and I will be better off to just continue on with the changes that I made.

They assured me I wasn’t the first person who had done this (they had too) and that customer service would help me fix it. And they did!

I think the world has started spinning normally again.

When these things happen, what do you do? What can you do? Do you give up and quit or just keep putting one foot in front of the other and ride it out? This applies to every area of our lives; weight loss, fitness, you name it. When you’re on a journey be it to lose weight or increase your fitness some days/weeks will be great, and others will make you wonder if you have what it takes to continue. Of course, you do. You just have to do it. Take the bad with the good. The road to weight loss or better fitness is not a straight line.

This picture below is my “line”. It’s my weight record in my Weight Watchers app. As you can see there are ups and downs, but the overall trend was down, now because I am maintaining it is fairly steady, but there are still ups and downs. It’s that trend you need to focus on. Is it going the right way overall? Don’t get caught up in the day-to-day or even week to week fluctuations. They will happen. Work through them and keep going.

What matters is that the end result is getting you where you want to be. Even then it’s not easy. It is still work maintaining that result, and you will continue to have good and bad days and weeks.

I’m really excited to have found Plunder and that I decided to take the plunge and become a stylist with them.
