Some Girl Time and A Make-Over

This past Saturday I grabbed my daughter and headed to Ulta for an IT cosmetics makeover. Now we are not new to IT. We have been using IT products since the end of last year. I thought it would be a fun thing to do. Have a little girl time, spend some money, etc. I needed to buy a new mascara (amazing how mine had just run out).  I started using the IT Super Hero mascara when it came with a kit I purchased around the holidays. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but came to like it. For several years I was using Dazzle Lash in Brunette from MAC. I loved it, it was the first mascara I had ever used that didn’t flake all over my face. But when I needed to buy a new one last year and headed off to MAC I discovered they no longer make it. In fact I guess it had been way too long since I last bought it, because they looked at me as if I had three heads!

I decided to show you all the results of this event and make it a blog post.

Here I am, before, with no makeup. I may not win a prize, but…..

Here is the after. All made up 😳. A bit scary in my opinion! If I was not a user of IT cosmetics, this would not have enticed me to become one!!!

I think I quite resembled “The Joker” from batman! The “old”, “real” Adam West Batman! I tend to go for a natural “no makeup” look. I’m not sure what I ended up with, but it is not me! My daughter said it’s just because I take horrible selfies, lol! I will admit I have not mastered the art of selfies yet, and I may never, but I don’t think that is it!!!

I never use eyeliner and this look is why. It certainly has not made me think I should start! I look as if I slept for three days in my make-up; after a bender! I also do not use mascara on my lower lashes.

Why? Well I have rather sparse to almost non-existent lower lashes (and the top ones are nothing to brag about)! I have been considering trying Lash Boost from Rodan & Fields. I have seen several pictures of ladies with lashes much like mine now and the results are amazing! Some are consultants for R&F and some not. A couple are people who I actually know. They have a great special going in right now, which is making it hard to not jump on the bandwagon!  I have to admit, it’s VERY expensive and that is partially what has held me back. Have any of you heard of and/or used their products? If so what are your thoughts? I will keep you posted on the decision, but if you have tried it, please let us know your thoughts.

Since this week has been crazy and I have not posted the blog much this week I have also not drawn the Plunder piece for last week. I will do two at one time and announce the winners.

Thank you to everyone that has participated! I hope the winners have or will enjoy their prize. I know one hasn’t arrived, yet, as it had quite a way to travel, but is on the way!

Today is the last to sign up with me for Plunder and have the chance to earn your kit for free and earn a free cruise in January! How lovely would that be? When it’s cold, dark, and dreary at home to be cruising the Caribbean!

You have until midnight so log onto to my website, click on Plunder Opportunity and then become a stylist or email me at grandma2glamma@gmail.com with questions or for details. I don’t know if there will be another opportunity like this. Starting a business for $99.00 is unheard of, but to start a business for free?! WOW!

Next week I will be sharing some of the looks I pulled together for the June challenges in The Style Club. You will really get to see my “selfie” taking at work, as I took several days of looks with my phone and a “selfie button”. Hopefully, my lack of skill will not scare you away! If you have not already joined there is time to do so, or get on the waiting list for the next wave. July’s challenges will focus on color. It promises to be interesting, but not as busy! Thank goodness, lol!

If you have not signed up for the blog email, yet, you can sign up with the subscribe button at the top right side of the page or on the “pop-up”. I will not share your email with anyone else, you will just be the first to know when there is a new post. You can also follow me social media through the pop-up or by clicking the following links: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Bloglovin.  The Facebook page has now reached over 600 likes! Twitter and Instagram aren’t far behind! Thank you all for helping to get it there!

If you would like to share the blog with your Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest friends, you can just click the share buttons at the bottom of the post. Your likes, comments, and shares are what helps get the blog out to more folks, and I appreciate it more than you know. That’s what helps it to grow! Remember you can also “Pin” the blog or just the photos to Pinterest. So feel free to pin away!

Don’t forget to leave a comment so that you can be entered in the Plunder drawing for this week. Of course your comments help more people to see the blog too and that’s what helps to get it out to more people. I really do appreciate it!

Until the next time

Simple Pleasure Thursday 6/29

I’ve been MIA a little bit this week. Things have been a bit crazy, as I’ve been trying to help organize the half marathon and marathon run for Sgt Eric Houck in October. If you missed that post you can read it here

This week I have a simple pleasure; lightning bugs AKA fireflies. Do you have them where you are? What do you call them?

I saw my first one last week. When I see them I really feel like it’s summer. My son sent me this picture a couple of weeks back, when he first saw one. I haven’t been outside late enough to see them sooner, lol. They have fascinated me since I was a little girl. I love sitting on the porch watching them fly around and light up.

We also have a bat that flits around at night. It’s interesting to watch, but I must admit it scares me a bit too…mainly because you always hear about bats and rabies, other than that it doesn’t bother me.

Then there’s the squirrels that “The Man” took to feeding this last winter. Honestly, they now come and stand in front of the door looking for peanuts! He and the littles have named them Petey! I’m seriously waiting for them to actually knock on the door one day! With all the critters you’d think we lived country.

What is your simple pleasure this week? Comment and let me know!

I do have a lot to share with you and will be back to a regular posting schedule soon. “The Man” is on vacation next week, so either I will be writing to stay sane or busy, lol!

Until the next time

Training For The Run of my Life

Week one of full-out Baltimore Running Festival BRF and Marine Corps Marathon MCM training has ended.

Yesterday, I ran my first race in 2017; the Baltimore Women’s Classic-BWC. The BWC is one of the largest women’s only races around. It is a run to benefit women’s cancers.

This concluded my first week of “official” marathon training.

Here is the picture “The Man” took just after I crossed the finish line. I look like heck! I didn’t look this spent after a marathon 😳

My time was slower than last year, which had improved from the previous year.  Over all not awful. Not the back of the pack; pretty much middle of the road all the way. But a step backwards.

I’m not so sure it wasn’t  slightly slower than the first year. A sign of my lack of running this past winter or the couple of pounds I’ve gained? Time will tell.

This is the third year I’ve participated in this race. I considered this to be a “shake-out” race and my “official” start to full-out training.

The problem or potential problem with this strategy is it puts me behind on mileage; according to “the plan”. I have altered my plan to make it up and/or catch up over the next couple of weeks. Hopefully this works out as I expect it to. This is what I did for my 2015 marathon and it worked. I am cautiously optimistic. My goal is to start and finish both. I am less worried about BRF than MCM. The Baltimore half has a five hour time limit. The marathon is only 6.5. That didn’t worry until I came up with plan to add the half the day before.

Yes, for those who don’t know I’m doing the half on Saturday and the full on Sunday; October 21 & 22, 2017! If you don’t know why I have decided to do this you can read about my “why” of the story here. This will not be easy and I am sure will challenge me to the center of my being. But I have:

The Cliff Notes version of the story is we are doing this to honor a local soldier killed in Afghanistan two weeks ago.

If you are a runner and have plans to run in the BRF (in any of the races), or would like to join us in Baltimore to run in honor Sgt. Eric Houck, please do. If you are running MCM and would like to honor him there, please do. This especially hits home for us as Eric was local, and his sister-in-law works with my daughter, Amanda.

I think of those two little children; the same age as my grand littles, (Noah and Miss Quinn), who will never see their daddy again, yet aren’t old enough to really understand why. There is a young wife and mother who will now have to raise these two little children alone. I think of a mother who has lost her son, and know that “there but for the grace of God go I”. I can’t say that I know how she feels, exactly, because I am one of the lucky ones. My oldest son was in the army and stationed at Ft. Drum when 911 occurred. I cannot tell you how scared I was that day when I heard the “towers” had been hit. It was many hours before I could reach him on the phone. In my mind I had visions of him on a plane leaving without word! Yes, I was one of the lucky ones; but I know the fear.

This is not the first time we’ve run for the fallen, but because Eric is a “hometown boy” we are trying to garner a large hometown presence to honor and remember him. I hope we can do that. To help his family know that he is not forgotten and will not be forgotten.

My time for these two races will not be a factor other than to finish in the allotted time frame. My original goal for MCM was to better my time from my first marathon. With the addition of the half a day before, that my be unrealistic; especially since this will be a very emotional series of runs, but I will do my best to finish.

Until the next time

Fashion Friday-Travel Outfit/Style Club Challenge 7

A simple shift dress, styled three ways

As you know I went away last week. Before going I was asked if I could  write a post about what I wear for travel. I mentioned last week that my traveling attire was nothing to write about. Or so I thought. For the most part comfort has been my only requirement. We drive mostly to our destinations and dressing up to spend hours in the car is not fun. When I was overweight I certainly didn’t care, and had adopted an attitude of I’d likely never see those same people again; so who cared?

That may not have been the best strategy.

Even after losing the weight, I didn’t really think too much about it. This is what I wore to and from Florida on vacation last year. On our way we stopped in my hometown of Jacksonville. I met up with my sister at the cemetery to “visit” those who are no longer with us.

I’m on the left, for those who don’t already know me. Now keep in mind we were traveling in the car for over twenty hours each way, so comfort was key. And it was August so heat and humidity were a big factor. All in all I guess this wasn’t too bad and definitely can qualify as an “athleisure” look, with emphasis on the “leisure”….

I decided it was time to up my game, and this is what I came up with for this trip.

The one thing I didn’t count on when I found this dress was how easily it would wrinkle. Other than that it was just about perfect! The only thing that could make it better would be those little snaps that some dresses have to hold your bra straps in place and pockets. I have come to like simple dresses with pockets! Why, I don’t know. It isn’t like I really put stuff in them, but I like them. The little bra strap hooks things are fabulous though. I may be able to add them myself.

See how useful those little “strap hooks” would be for this dress

I was actually able to use this for this weeks style club challenge too. I have not been as active in this months challenges as I had hoped to be. It seems the month completely got away from me, and fast! I have figured out a way to make some of it up and will have some new looks for you and the club soon!

I was hoping to be able to get some photos shot while away, but that thought went out the window quickly. I was able to photograph this dress, but that was it. It was a bonus that I could use it for the style challenge!

Our assignment last week was to style one dress three different ways; using a belt (I didn’t), a scarf, and a hat (you know the hat was up my alley)! I didn’t even realize when I photographed this that it would work, for the challenge I was just hoping to have a blog post. But I’m glad it did!

Here was my idea for taking this simple dress from day to an evening out, by adding a scarf, heels, and matching bag for a monochromatic look. Since I was traveling and knew we would be going straight to the beach, pretty much, I did not wear any make up. But this is the real me. More often than not I don’t wear makeup and in triple digits with humidity….well.

I was in such a hurry to get this done, before the littles went into melt down mode that I forgot to take my watch and FitBit off. This little dress came from Target. The scarf is from White House Black Market. I fell in love with it this past fall. The shoes you’ve seen before from Payless and the little bag is from Coach. Most of the jewelry is from Plunder. The earrings are in the new catalog and called Bowie. As large as they look they are very light and you don’t even know you are wearing them. The bracelets on the left, you’ve seen before. They are retired with the exception of the one with the turquoise beads. The bracelets on the right are my Alex and Ani bracelets along with the Plunder Lindy bracelet that has my initial. It was retired too, when the spring line came out. I decided against a necklace since there was such a bib detail already on the dress. I did try a couple and everything seemed to just get lost in the dress.

Here is my “hat look”.

Of course you know as soon as we went outside and I put a hat on the winds kicked in and I was fighting the hat the entire time! I removed my earrings before heading to the boardwalk. These sandals are the ones I wore on the ride down. They are my favorite Vince Camuto brand and came from the Home Shopping Network (HSN). The hat is from Betsy Johnson and came from HSN also, last year. The little cross body bag is by Vera Bradley and is at least eight years old and it has quite a history…..

What do you think of my somewhat “retro” sun shades? I took a lot of “ribbing” for those….and guess what I did? I put them in my little bag to get on a ride with Noah, then put my phone in next to them without thinking. See where it is in the pocket in the picture? I lost a brand new phone (as in three days old new) in Disney in 2009 out of this same purse, from that same pocket, on the Tower of Terror….so of course I knew not to leave it there….when I took my shades out to put them back on, one of the lenses was all scratched up; right in my line of sight…..my phone case has some little “blingy” jewels on it, and I must have put that side next to the lenses of the glasses. I think it’s time to not use this bag for amusement parks.

On the bright side, at least those glasses were inexpensive. I got them from BJs wholesale club. I went back this past weekend and they still had some. I bought a new pair of the same ones along with a different pair. I had not told “The Man” about my little accident until we were at the store and I saw they still had some. I went to pick them up and he said “didn’t you just buy a pair of those a couple of weeks ago”? And the rest of that story went something like this: “Why, Yes, Yes, I did…but what had happened was”…..I felt like Lucy “splainin” to Ricky, lol! Can you believe he was not amused?

What do you think about taking a simple shift dress, and styling it three different ways? Can you think of anything different to do with it?

Two of my precious littles

Simple/Guilty Pleasure Thursday 6/22

Hello! It’s time for Simple/Guilty Pleasure Thursday again! This week I have (what I will call) a guilty pleasure. It’s a game! Yes, a game. I play Candy Crush!

Really, I do! I started playing it on a whim a few years ago and was hooked immediately! I don’t play it as frequently as I did in the beginning, but there’s rarely a day that I don’t play for a few minutes.

I also play Words With Friends and right now I have games going with four people! In my mind, it keeps my mind active, lol! I only devote a few minutes of my day to them, but I must admit, I do enjoy just zoning out for a few minutes and playing.

Do you play either of these games? Are you caught up in any of those “Facebook” games? These are the only ones I play, though I get requests daily from “friends” trying to get me caught up in their games. Sorry, guys, I have enough to keep up with!!! It seems some folks do nothing but play games all day. I wish I had that much time on my hands, lol!

What is your simple/guilty pleasure for this week? Take a minute and share with us!

Don’t forget, when you comment on the blog during June (my birthday month) you get a chance to win that weeks Plunder Jewelry.

You Can Do Hard Things

A rainbow, a sign

A Sign!

A rainbow. It has long been considered a sign, as far back as biblical days.

Last night when I left the gym, after yoga practice, I saw this rainbow in the sky. It was in close proximity to my house. Since I live less than a mile from the gym, I was able to make it home to snap a picture of it.

Why is this a sign?

I’ve mentioned that I’ve been wrestling with a decision. Well, I made that decision, and last night set the wheels in motion to begin a new adventure.

I registered for Yoga Teacher Training!

Why was this a hard decision?

Well for starters it is far from inexpensive. So that was big factor. I am someone who thinks long and hard about spending major money on some thing, and this isn’t just pocket change. At least not for people I know.

Then there is the fact that I am running a marathon in October. That was actually my first concern. The classes start in September and are nine weekends long. When I first read that, the information made it sound as if it was nine weekends in a row. That would have been a problem for sure. Why? Well, you can’t miss a class unless it’s an emergency or pre arranged, and then you have to make it up. Since the classes are Friday night, and all day Saturday and Sunday it would have taken away my long run Sundays and that would have been when the milage was ramping up. There would have been no way to make that up.  When I was able to talk with my yoga instructor Kim, who is also the teacher for the school, I found out it was one weekend a month for nine months. That definitely put it back on the table. I can work two weeks of long runs around two weekends.

Then there is my powerlifting training, which hasn’t been as intense a training regime because of my marathon training. You cannot train hard for lifting while endurance training. My, trainer, Jeff has been completely on board with the Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) and said that it would not interfere with my lifting.

If running the marathon wasn’t enough, I came up with a brilliant idea on my way to the ocean last week. What was it? For my daughter and I, to run or walk the Baltimore Running Festival (BRF) Half Marathon on the Saturday 10/21, before the Marine Corp Marathon (MCM) on Sunday 10/22!!! Yes, really, I did! I haven’t even told Jeff this yet, I will do that tonight. We are back to our regular schedule.

Since I had been considering the Dopey Challenge in Disney for January and wasn’t able to get in, this is the same as the Goofy Challenge, that I thought about before getting in to the MCM. The main difference is the highest training milages will be in the summer and not the fall…..it will require running two days back to back to train, which will challenging; especially in the heat and humidity. I have figured out how to work my training runs around the YTT training and I think I have come up with a workable plan!

Why did I do this?

On Saturday 6/10 there were three soldiers killed in Afghanistan (you may have heard about it on the news). One of these young me was the brother in law of my daughters co-worker and is a local, hometown boy; Sgt. Eric Houck. I contacted my running friend Sid Busch (I’ve told you about him before), but you can read a bit about him here. This article is a couple of years old, from his 200th marathon. He ran that the day I ran my first! I asked him, if he had not already picked a soldier to run for in Baltimore, if he would consider running for Eric. He, of course, agreed. After I really got to thinking about it. Amanda and I (or maybe it was just me) decided we could add the half to our weekend and run with Sid. This race has a five hour time limit and we can walk the entire thing if we need to and still make it for the marathon. Sid gives his race medal, bib, shirt, etc to the family of the soldier he runs for. Eric had two little children, Noah and Quinn’s age, we decided by running with Sid we could give our medals to the children to have a remembrance. We will also be running MCM in his honor and have submitted his information to be added to the “blue mile” there.

It won’t be easy but…..my motto and the Plunder anthem for this year is:

Ironically when I gave Kim my application and registration fee last night I mentioned still be scared silly. Her words to me were: “It will be hard, but you can do hard things, you have done hard things, you run marathons, That is not easy, it is hard!”

Well when you look at it that way….and add the rainbow. I took it as a sign that I made the right decision.

She also told me it would challenge me to look and my light and dark side. To examine me. I knew this and I think this might scare me just a bit!

Well have I succeeded in making you think I’m ready for the “looney bin”? What are your thoughts about this news? Do you have any words of wisdom, advice, thoughts? Let me hear from you?

This Sunday I will run my first race of this year, the Baltimore Women’s Classic (BWC) 5K. This is one of the largest Women’s only races around and helps to support research for women’s cancers. This will kick off my “official” Half/Marathon training. The 5K isn’t as far a distance as I should run for this week, but I have adjusted my plan to quickly ramp up my milage (safely) over the next few weeks to get where I should be. Remember I tend to work training plans “MY WAY” anyhow…..

Thank you to everyone that has participated in my birthday month “Plunder Give Away”! I have had fun with it. I hope you have too. Remember there is still time for you to enter and win. Just comment on the blog posts to be entered in the drawing each Friday this month. There are still two more drawings for June!!

Last weeks winner for commenting is Amy Hughes! Amy, send me a private message or email at grandma2glamma@gmail.com and let me know where to send your Plunder.

I will be posting the winner of the June Posse on the blog tomorrow. I have to go through all the comments from the month for that one!

Out of Whack

Hi y’all! I Just wanted to check in and say hi! I’ve not been writing the past few days (could you tell). For the past week and a half I have been all out of whack! Now you might think I’m always out of whack, and you could be right, lol, but I’m talking about my “routine”.

I am truly a creature of habit. I like having a routine, for the most part. I wonder if it’s because I’m getting “older” lol!

My writing schedule is off. I was able to post last week, thanks to writing ahead. My exercise schedule is off, but maybe the break was good. Father’s Day tends to get me a little depressed too, but it’s time to snap back!

The grand littles are out of school so there is no “regular” morning routine. Noah, has wanted me to “sit” with him all day…I think he’s more bored not being in school than he thought he’d be.

I enjoyed my overnighter to the ocean last week, and hope to tell you more about that. I still need to do the drawing for last weeks Plunder winner, and the winner of the June Plunder Posse. Wednesday the 14th was my birthday (couple of you were close with your guesses)! I will get that done and notify the winners, before it’s time to draw for this week!

My routine with Jeff was off because of that, and because the Saturday before he had to attend his brothers high school graduation. We made that session up last Monday, but because I was away I missed yoga on Tuesday and missed my regular Wednesday with Jeff, then this past Saturday he had his first ever powerlifting meet! He took second place in his age/weight class! Congratulations to him!

I will be getting back to regular posting this week. I have a lot to tell you. I have been working on an important life decision and I think I’m about ready to “spill the beans”. Jeff, has been encouraging this adventure. And, if that wasn’t enough, I’ve gone an gotten myself into another race!!! Wait until you hear about that! Even Jeff doesn’t know that yet….he may have me committed. I just need to make sure I’m not biting off more than I can chew.

Until the next time

Janet

June-Fierce 50 Follow Friday

I’m so lucky. Each month I have the chance to get to know some of my Fierce 50 Sisters a little better by participating in the Fierce 50 Follow Friday. Today is time to post for June and I have three new Fierce 50 Sisters to introduce you to. I hope you will head over and support their blogs and follow them on instagram!

This month I asked the ladies- What does The Fierce 50 Revolution mean to you? Their answers and a bit of their stories are below.

Annemarie:  “The Fierce 50 to me is about several thing’s. Being proud to say I’m in my 50’s, to market the age group so as we are accommodated by retailers and leisure outlets. More though, it’s about saying “50 is the new 30 and I have a lot to do yet. Don’t dismiss me because I’m not a number.” Annemarie can be found on IG at @mutton_style

Annemarie is a blogger from the UK.  She works full time in an office environment near London. She has adult children, fur babies, plus a partner known as Mr Him. She writes two blogs. One is about family and work life in the UK; Anna of the Mutton Years at http://tvshopaholic.blogspot.co.uk

The other is a girlie blog on clothes and so on called Mutton Style at https://muttonyearsstyleandi.blogspot.co.uk
Wow, Annemarie, two blogs? How do you keep up? Talk about FIERCE! I do good to manage one, lol!

Mindy: By setting a good example of being an “ageless wonder”, still being relevant, staying involved in life, contributing my talents, taking good care of myself. Mindy can be found on IG at @princessofwow

Mindy is divorced, and best friends with her “wuzband”, she turned 6-2 this month.  She is writing a one woman show about ageism in America which she will perform end of September in Beacon, New York. She is a cat Mom, Big Sister with Big Brother Big Sister Organization with a 10 year old girl. She is a hat designer, performance artist, singer, photographer and founder of The Smile Revolution raising conscious awareness to the healing power of a genuine smile, and if that isn’t enough, she has an album of songs about the power of a smile!  Mindy has a blog at theprincessofwow.com

Mindy is certainly a FIERCE, busy lady! And a hat designer! I’m in heaven!!! Check out her photos on IG! There are some fabulous hats!

Sharon: “Not enough hours in the day and so Fierce 50 means to me — just that — nothing stops, nothing changes, don’t let age put a stop to anything. I’m often the oldest digital marketer in the room but I like that and that it surprises people that I’m still living, learning and loving.” You can find Sharon on IG at @bestbeforeenddate

Sharon is also a blogger from the U.K. She is 54, married and celebrated her silver wedding anniversary earlier this year – she has two grown up sons.

She works in digital marketing and is launching her own business next month in digital strategy consulting.

She started her own blog just this past February www.bestbeforeenddate.com where she shares everything about her midlife adventures, life, fashion, travel, being empty nesters.

 Simple Pleasure Thursday 6/15

Hello! How are y’all today? It’s time for another Simple Pleasure Thursday!

My simple pleasure this week is enjoying my first cup of coffee in the morning, sitting alone, while the house is still quiet! Waking up, just sitting in the quiet with that first cup. I just sit and meditate, reflect, turn the news on low (not always the best choice) and enjoy the warmth of that cup in my hand.

I drink two cups every morning. Other than that I’m a water drinker. If we go out to breakfast I will get coffee too, but other than the morning, I am not a regular coffee drinker.

Sometimes I take it for granted. I certainly realized how much I enjoy a “good” cup of coffee in the morning, while I was away yesterday. I was quite excited to learn that the hotel offered complimentary coffee all day. That was until yesterday morning when I woke up. I went down and poured a cup of mud….the night person apparently didn’t drink coffee or make it…I went back an hour later (because I just had to) and the same coffee was still sitting there 😳. I had to wait until we went for breakfast to get a cup. And I enjoyed every sip!

I actually have a travel coffee pot that I bought to take when I know I won’t be able to get coffee when I get up (we are early risers) and if I’m traveling for a race I have to time my rising, eating, and such for the race start. I didn’t take it, since it was just an overnight trip….

After breakfast, where I tried to make a healthy choice, we headed to the boardwalk. The view for the morning certainly did help make up for the poor coffee start.

Now this view every morning, while drinking coffee, might just be perfect! What do you think?

What is your simple pleasure for this week? Leave a message and let me know.

I’ll be telling you about my trip soon!

Until the next time

An Overnight Trip Down The Ocean-Hon

We are “heading downy ocean hon”! This is “Bawlmerese” or Baltimore slang for those who don’t know, lol!

Today was my little Noah’s last day of kindergarten and we are celebrating the end of the school year by going to the beach for an overnighter. Let’s hope this is a good trip. I found out yesterday it is “June Bug” week in Ocean City. Better known as all the seniors have converged (and no I don’t mean senior citizens)!

The “bus” is loaded and ready to go!

Yes, I really do have a “bus”! Lol.

This time last year, we bit the bullet and bought this monster. When you have a load of littles to carry around and we often go off on day trips as a family, it makes more sense than taking multiple vehicles. We opted for “just” the twelve passenger over the fifteen so that we would have cargo space behind the seats for luggage and such. The fifteen passenger with cargo room, was just too much, although there have been a few times since that I’ve thought maybe we should have just got it!

Do you think we have enough stuff for an overnight trip?

I did pack a bit extra, but I’m hoping to get some photos shot while I’m there. Really there are two adults and two kids. We may need more, lol!

What do you think of this cute little shift dress? I will be featuring it in a post later about traveling attire. I was asked to write a post about what I wear for traveling. That really made me think. In the past I have usually just thrown something on and jumped in the car. I like to be comfortable when traveling and we usually travel by car unless we absolutely have to fly. I realized I need to up game in regards to my “traveling duds”. I found this cute little dress at Target and felt it would be perfect! I think I might need to get it in other colors!

Since my internet was down, I did not have a chance to pick last weeks Plunder winner for commenting on the blog and post it yesterday. The winner for last week is: Stella! Stella, email me your address at grandma2glamma@gmail.com and I will get your Plunder in the mail.

Since it’s my birthday month don’t forget to leave a comment so that you can be entered in the Plunder drawing for this week. Aren’t you excited? Every Friday in June I will be giving away a piece of beautiful Plunder Jewelry. All you have to do to is comment on the blog posts to be entered in a drawing. I will draw a name from all the comments made during the week, each Friday night. On my actual birthday (I’m not going to tell you when that is, yet) I am going to give away a June Posse, pictured here. Who wants to guess when it is? Put your guess in the comments. So far there have only been two guess and they were close, but not correct. And it isn’t here quite yet….who will be the next to guess?

As you can see there are three pieces of jewelry in the June Posse! Everyone who has commented up to that point will be entered in the drawing, even if you have already won.

If you want to sign up to receive the Plunder Posse each month you can do so here. The Plunder Posse is a subscription plan, much like Ipsy, Graze, etc. For $25 each month (which includes tax and shipping) you will receive 1-3 pieces of beautiful plunder jewelry. Your Posse will bill and ship on the same day each month, and you can cancel anytime or stop and start as often as you’d like if there’s a month you just don’t want it. If you have any questions or need help placing your order or have questions about joining the plunder business, email me at: grandma2glamma@gmail.com

Have you signed up for the blog email, yet? If not you can sign up with the subscribe button at the top right side of the page or on the “pop-up”. I will not share your email with anyone else,  you will just be the first to know when there is a new post.
