Simple Pleasures 7/6

It’s time for Simple Pleasure Thursday.

Today my Simple Pleasure is: Spring/Summer rain! Don’t you just love the smell of rain in the air during spring and summer? That earthy smell; either just before or after the rain?

This morning it is raining and after a couple of weeks with scorching hot/humid weather, it is refreshing (for a bit). Now don’t get me wrong, there are times when I have to be out and about, running around that I dislike rain; probably like many of you. But this morning just sitting here drinking coffee and looking out the window at a nice soaking rain is refreshing. The “powers that be (the weather man)” has predicted that this will last off and on all day. We shall see about that, lol!

We are coming up on the end of the week and I haven’t clobbered “The Man”, yet, lol! For those who don’t know, he has been off work on “vacation” all week….I seriously get almost nothing accomplished when he is home. It’s much like having another child underfoot… times.

This Saturday (our anniversary) we are taking a day trip with two of the grand littles, Noah and Miss Quinn, to Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, PA. This is an amusement park, mainly for kids. We have passed it for years but have never been there. It should be fun, right? Have any of you been there? If so, what are your thoughts, experiences, recommendations? At least the outlets are just up the street, should I need some retail therapy after, hahaha!

What is your simple or guilty pleasure this week? Do you like the rain? The sound of rain on the roof, the smell in the air? Take a minute and share with us!

Have you signed up for the blog email, yet? If not you can sign up with the subscribe button at the top right side of the page or on the “pop-up”. What happens if you do? You will be the first to know when there is a new post! That’s all. I will not share your email with anyone else, that’s just mean. The email list is getting close to 100 now! I know that doesn’t seem like a lot, but we all start somewhere! Your liking, commenting, and sharing has helped it get there! When it reaches 100, I will have a give away! What I’m not sure of yet.

You can also follow me on social media through the pop-up or by clicking the following links: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Bloglovin. I often post things there, that don’t make it here. The Facebook page has now reached over 600 likes! Twitter and Instagram aren’t far behind! Thank you all for helping to get it there! I really do appreciate it.

If you would like to share the blog with your Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest friends, you can just click the share buttons at the bottom of the post. Your likes, comments, and shares are what helps get the blog out to more folks, and I appreciate it more than you know. That’s what helps it to grow! Remember you can also “Pin” the blog or just the photos to Pinterest. So feel free to pin away!

Until the next time

  1. Ha, love it, haven’t clobbered the man yet! I understand completely. I always say I have a third child, and my husband doesn’t deny it.

Happy Anniversary! Hope you guys enjoy the amusement park. What a great idea to spend that time with the grand littles. 🙂

Yes, I am with you, I love the rain. Last weekend I woke up to the sound of rain. It was still a little dark out and I was so comfortable. But instead of getting to drift off back to sleep to the tap, tap, tap of the raindrops outside, I had to get up and go to work. 🙁 I eventually got over it. 😛

My simple pleasure this week was getting to swim and play all day with the kiddos and the rest of my family on the 4th. Not often I get to just hang out with them. It twas a much-needed relaxing day.
