Simple Pleasure Thursday 8/3

Wow! It’s Thursday, that means it’s time for a Simple Pleasure, and the weekend is almost here! Yay!!!

August is off to a great start. After the crazy extended hot weather in July, things seem to have settled down a bit. I wouldn’t say it’s cool, but right now it’s not oppressively hot. I’ll take it!

This week my Simple Pleasure is a good nights sleep! Not just the number of hours I get, but the quality of those hours!

I try to get a minimum of seven hours sleep each night. That seems to be a good number for me. For the past several weeks that has not happened, consistently. And boy was I feeling it this past weekend! So much so that I didn’t even try to run on Sunday!

When I woke up Sunday to get ready, for my run, I felt like crap! My sinuses and throat were stinging and burning. You know that “is it allergies or am I coming down with something” feeling? I got, made coffee, and tried to talk myself into going; but I couldn’t make myself get ready. Missing an entire run at this stage isn’t good for the training plan, but stressing my body, getting sick, and missing more runs or workouts would be worse. So I just decided to take it easy for the day. It was actually nice to do practically nothing, for a change.

Sunday night I was in bed at 7:30, and asleep before 8:00! Thanks to my Fitbit I can track my sleep patterns.

This may not look like “good” sleep, but it’s better than it had been and I felt much better when I woke up Monday morning! The first awake period was when “The Man” got up for work. The second was when Miss Quinn decided to come sleep with me. She is not easy to sleep with! I think last week either she, Noah, or both wandered in every night. Do you know how much room a three year old can take up in a king sized bed? 😳 a lot, lol!

One day “The Man” came home and asked her where she slept that night. She told him in “mine and Oma’s bed”, haha! She wandered in last Friday night, not too long before I had to get up and get ready to leave for WW and the gym. When I got up to go she said to him “Pop you need to get on the other side of the bed” meaning my side. He was on “her side”! Cheeky little thing, she is!

Fall is my favorite season and Spring is a close second! I like summer for the longer days, but not the heat. What is your favorite season?
