It’s Time To Get Serious Again

Happy Monday!

Did you have a good weekend?

I hope you had a chance to have some fun or just relax and recharge for the new week.

For the most part we made it a lazy weekend. So lazy, in fact, I had pajamas on by 6pm Saturday, was in bed by 7:30, and asleep at 8:30! I actually slept better and longer than I had in a very long time! According to Fitbit anyway!

I did get some things accomplished first though.

I made it to the #saturday7amsocialclub and then off to my session with Jeff. Just as I walked into the gym I received a text message from Jeff.

It went like this:

Do you know how easy it would have been to turn around and go back out that door? I have to admit I was a bit torn. A gift? Maybe. An easy way out? Oh Yeah, You bet! But, it had already been 2 1/2 weeks since our last session I could not afford to keep that pattern up. I NEEDED a good workout! I had also made the decision that I was getting my head back in the game and it was not the time to let a snag in the day derail that! I had a week of “carb-loading”, but I really used it as a week to just eat. Then last week was an eat what I felt like week. It was as if I really couldn’t get “full”. Were the races the weekend before still in my head? I don’t know, but I do know keeping it up is not an option; unless I want to go backwards. And I seem to have done enough of that! So I got busy.

Part way through the work out, I got a new message.

By the time Jeff arrived I was 3 into the 5×5 at 145, so we finished that up and then Jeff stretched me out for about 20 minutes. I didn’t do all on the list he sent me. I was actually shaky from what I had done. Was it because it had been so long since a good work out? Was it because this was the first time I had ever done a workout like this on my own? Had he not come in I would have continued on with the list, though. His session after me canceled so he came all the way over for just that short time.

Let me just tell you I was feeling that workout yesterday morning. Well, really later Saturday evening 😳.

“The Man” and I got all our shopping and running around done Saturday. Sunday was going to be a wash out according to the weather report so we decided to get it over with. “The Man” was excited we had to go to his favorite store “Sams”. After all we had to pick up Halloween candy for the trick or treaters….$50 later for just candy! Is that overkill? Probably this year, since Halloween is in the middle of the week. Our neighborhood is usually a hot bed of activity, but it has dwindled down the last couple of years. I have been giving kids a couple of pieces of candy each and still have plenty left over; add to that all the candy Noah and Miss Quinn will bring home and we are going to be a candy coma! I hope we have a lot of kids this year otherwise I will be put to the test! After all, I am a chocoholic😳!

Do you have a lot of kids on Halloween? I love seeing the little kids dressed up and having fun.

Do you have strategies for keeping the candy away, or is not a problem for you? If you are able to forget the candy is there, what is your secret? I try to buy candy I don’t like. If I don’t care for it, it’s much easier to “let it go”! For the really littles ones I try to get animal cookies or lollipops. I try to make sure there is something just for them.

October has been such a busy month! 1. The easiest solution is to just not have candy in the house. It is so addictive when it is around. We make our own sweet treats without any white sugar. Much healthier and equally deliciouis

    1. Jan, I wish that were a realistic option sometimes. If I only had to worry about me, it would be. That’s why when I know I can’t control myself I only allow in what I don’t like and won’t eat. That seems to work. At least for me.
